Professional Summary
Personal Statement
Practicing in St. Louis, where deep-rooted inequities have fostered distrust in medicine, showed me how empathy and transparency can transform fear into trust. This drive to understand complex patient narratives carried over into my research. I pursued projects at the intersection of clinical care, systems improvement, and patient-centered communication. I studied patterns in challenging presentations, examined gaps in coordination among providers, and explored how collaboration can improve outcomes. These experiences taught me to navigate uncertainty with curiosity and reinforced my belief that internal medicine thrives on both analytical precision and human connection.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
From the very beginning, I felt genuinely welcomed, with a surprisingly thorough discussion about everyone’s favorite pie flavor setting the tone for the day in the best possible way. It was lighthearted and funny, but also showed how warm, approachable, and genuinely human the people in the program are. That same energy carried through every conversation I had with the residents and faculty. I was especially drawn to the program’s commitment to being at the forefront of residency curriculum and medical education, and I loved the idea of training somewhere residents are encouraged to help shape that future. By the end of the day, it felt less like an interview and more like a conversation with friends, which made me even more excited about the possibility of becoming part of this community.
