Dr. Oriana Aragón received her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Yale University. Prior to joining the University of Cincinnati, she held a faculty position at Clemson University where she was a Dan Duncan Research Fellow and where she founded the Emotion, Motivation, and Expression Lab (EME Lab). She was also a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University.
Dr. Aragon's research uses both experimental psychology and neuroscience to study how emotion expressions and motivations affect consumer judgments and decision-making. She has also worked in the areas of best practices for education and diversity and inclusion efforts. And she has also worked in the realm of interpersonal relationships.
Her work has been published in top-tier journals such as Psychological Science, Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews, and Cognition and Emotion. Her work has also been featured in science reporting in outlets such as Good Morning America, the New York Times, BBC, NPR Radio, Discovery News, The Atlantic, Scientific American, and The Washington Post. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships and the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.
