2002 -2003 Research Assistant, "The DNA Patent Database Project": Aimed to collect DNA based patents and applications issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for members interested in genomics, genetics and biotechnology. Worked to define the database for which search algorithms were created which then transitioned to the modified “Ade/Cook-Deegan algorithm’, named after self and mentor. Additionally, targeting and collecting appropriate patents while briefly exploring the practices of establishing intellectual property between academic institutions, the database now contains over 63,000 patents for review since 2001 to present. https://dnapatents.georgetown.edu/ , The Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown University
