Professional Summary

Involved in the perioperative anesthetic services for patients within the UC Health medical system as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).  Some such services include: preoperative evaluations (interviews, health history, physical examinations, vascular access, pain management etc.), intraoperative anesthetic care (hemodynamic monitoring, general anesthetic / monitored anesthesia care, airway maintenance,  invasive procedures, fluid status evaluations), and postoperative care (planning for pain control, evaluation of the ability of patients to defend airways, planning for postoperative nausea and vomiting control, etc.)  (The list in not all inclusive).  In addition, collaboration among different professional services (physician staff, nursing, radiology technicians, patient care coordinators, etc.) to develop a plan to provide the best patient care possible.  Finally, in the clinical setting, teach and instruct Registered Nurse Student Anesthetists throughout their educational process regarding the professional duties of a CRNA.
