Professional Summary
Ted Boivin (he/him) is a 7th year PhD candidate in Classical Philology. His dissertation, on the "marked" alternative in the Annales of Tacitus, explores how the form of Tacitus' suggestive alternatives reflects the ambiguities of presenting and interpreting speech and action amidst the unstable politics of the early Principate. Ted's principal research interests are in Latin historiography and epic (especially Tacitus, Lucan, and Caesar), civil war reception in Latin literature, genre, narratology, and body metaphor. He holds a B.A. in Classics from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH.
