Professional Summary
Hey y'all. Thank you for expressing interest in me and my work. I am Shantaris, a sport management scholar, educator, and storyteller currently pursuing a PhD in Sport Administration at the University of Cincinnati. My work focuses on understanding the experiences of Black women and girls in sport and how sport can serve as a space for identity, community, and empowerment.
My research examines Black women's experiences in sport leadership, with a particular focus on how race, gender, and organizational culture shape their experiences and career pathways. My second line examines sport as a site of Black identity, belonging, and cultural expression, exploring how Black communities engage with and make meaning through sport.
