Education

PhD: University of Cicninnati Cincinnati, OH, 2020 (History - U.S. History (immigration, urban) History - Early Modern European)

Master of Arts: University of Cicninnati Cincinnati, OH, 2014 (History)

Bachelor of Arts: University of Cincinnati Cincinnati, OH, 2012 (History)

Research and Practice Interests

I consider myself a social historian interested in the stories of those who contribute to the fabric of American life without rising to the level of recognition found in the "great man" histories of the past. For deeply personal reasons, I am interested in how society has chosen to deal with the issues of orphaned and abandoned children throughout the course of human history. In addition, as a child of the mid-twentieth century, I have witnessed quite a bit of history being made. I believe my life experience has given me the benefit of hindsight and some well-informed foresight into how society will react to changes on the horizon. The names may change, but the personalities of people who find themselves in challenging situations seem to fall into historically predictable patterns.
