Sunghye Cho

Asst Professor (F2)

Professional Summary

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Cincinnati, where I direct the Clinical Linguistics and Health Outcomes (CHO) Lab. My research lies at the intersection of clinical linguistics, speech science, artificial intelligence, and digital health. I develop computational approaches to understand speech, language, and social communication across the lifespan, with the goal of improving the assessment, diagnosis, and monitoring of neurological, psychiatric, and developmental disorders. Through interdisciplinary collaborations, I seek to translate speech and language biomarkers into scalable, clinically meaningful tools that improve health outcomes. I received my PhD in linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania, completed my postdoctoral training at the Linguistic Data Consortium at UPenn, and served as a Research Assistant Professor at UPenn.
