Professional Summary
Hi, I'm Shelby! I use she/her/hers pronouns. I joined Arts & Sciences Advising in April 2019, and I oversee advising for the natural science division & currenty advise neuroscience students.
I am a proud Hoosier! I attended Indiana University for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. Fun fact: Indiana University Bloomington is considered one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States!
My passion for working with students started when I worked as a Program Assistant for Indiana University's New Student Orientation as an undergraduate student. I was a first generation college student with a low income background, so I wanted to use the knowledge I gained to help students navigate their college experience. I've worked in higher education/advising ever since!
In addition to my role as an advisor in Arts & Sciences, I am also involved as an adjunct instructor for PD 1015, a Mental Health Champion, a QPR Training Facilitator, and an Advisor Engagement and Retention Advisory Board member for Advising and Academic Services.
Ask me about: music, my dogs Arya & Lola, The Office, Indiana University, traveling to Ireland & TikToks that make me giggle.
