Luiza dos Santos Souza is a PhD Candidate in Classical Philology. She received her BA (2013) in Latin and her MA (2016) in Literary Studies from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil. She is interested in Roman elegiac poetry, metapoetics, education and pedagogy, translation history and theory. Her dissertation examines metaphors of movement - such as feet, chariots, and ships - in Ovid’s Amores, Ars Amatoria and Tristia, as indices of the poetic persona’s relationship with his elegiac production.
