Professional Summary
Alessandro Farina is an experience architect.
From 2011 to 2024, he has been working at Pritzker Prize
winners Herzog & de Meuron where he holds the position of
Senior Architect and Project Leader.
During his more than twelve years with Herzog & de Meuron,
Alessandro was involved in numerous projects and different
typologies such as a Villa complex in Lugano, Switzerland; a
Hotel project in Gstaad Switzerland and Como, Italy; a Museum
project in Milan, Italy; the Kinderspital in Zürich, Switzerland
and a Factory Transformation in Hangzhou, China.
Alessandro developed the design and administrative skills
necessary to lead project teams and contribute effectively to
these complex projects from schematic to construction design.
In addition to his work as an architect, since 2024 Alessandro
has been appointed as Visiting Professor at the School of
Architecture and Interior Design DAAP-SAID, at the University of
Cincinnati, U.S.A.
He is co-founder of Studio Tropicana, an emerging architecture
firm based in Milan, Italy.
Alessandro graduated from Accademia di Architettura in
Mendrisio, Switzerland with a Master of Architecture in 2010
and since the same year is a member of the Association of
Italian Architects “Ordine degli Architetti” in Varese, Italy.
