Professional Summary

Michaela (also known as MJ) is a first-year PhD student in Bronze Age Archaeology with an interest in Aegean prehistory. She received her B.A. in Classics from Carleton College. Her primary research interest concerns island and maritime landscapes in the Aegean as well as the larger Mediterranean, exploring the development of maritime communities and the challenges presented by the island landscape. 

She spent six years working on the Small Cycladic Islands Project (SCIP 2019-2024) as a fieldwalker, assistant pottery analyst, and database manager. She also completed a digital modeling internship with the Wiener Laboratory at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens (Spring 2023).
