Professional Summary

Mahira Ganster (she/hers) is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Cincinnati in the Lindner College of Business. Mahira completed her Ph.D. in Management at the University of Arizona in 2024. She earned her B.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and B.A. in Spanish at Colorado State University in 2019. Mahira researches employee motivation and well-being across multiple work-life domains. The first area focuses on issues at the work-nonwork interface, including employee-family relationships, home demands, and spillover across work and home domains. Second, she studies how employees cope with complex job demands, including job characteristics, leader demands, and job search stressors. Her dissertation examined the emotional and social effects of parenting interruptions experienced during the workday, and won the 2023 ExpiWell Dissertation Award, the 2023 SHRM Foundation Dissertation Grant Award, and the 2024 SIOP Lee Hakel Graduate Student Scholarship. Mahira's research has been published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, and Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
