Professional Summary

Jessica Hamill Boone is the Assistant Director of Piano Services at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she helps maintain the care of nearly 240 pianos and historical keyboard instruments.

A Registered Piano Technician (RPT) with the Piano Technicians Guild, she began her training at CCM as a student assistant, followed by an apprenticeship at the Aspen Music Festival in 1997, which culminated in an apprenticeship with the Concert and Artist Department of Steinway & Sons at Steinway Hall in New York City. She also completed additional training in regulation and touch through Steinway Academy in Astoria, Queens.
Jessica was a retail and service technician for Steinway & Sons in New York City and for M. Steinert & Sons in Boston, Massachusetts. She worked as a piano technician for major performance venues such as Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium and Weill Recital Hall), The Met at Lincoln Center, and Alice Tully Hall, as well as for organizations including the Music Teachers National Association, Interlochen Arts Academy, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestra, the Aronoff Center, and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

Jessica has prepared pianos for artists that include Herbie Hancock, Branford Marsalis, Dawn Upshaw, James Tocco, Jeremy Denk, Joseph Kalichstein, Hershey Felder, and András Schiff.

Before her current role at CCM, Jessica led a successful piano servicing business for more than 25 years in Boston and Cincinnati. She also built institutional experience as a staff piano technician for Northern Kentucky University and as a contract technician for CCM, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Interlochen Arts Academy.

Jessica earned her BM and MM in Piano Performance from CCM. In addition to her work as a piano technician, she has taught piano to students of all ages for more than 20 years.
