Research and Practice Interests

Dr. Holt's research focuses on parties in American legislatures. He is currently working on a four paper project examining the sources of party unity in Congress. He has also published research examining midterm congressional elections and committees in comparative legislatures. He has publications at Party Politics, Social Science Quarterly, Parliamentary Affairs, and The Journal of Legislative Studies.
