Professional Summary
Amber Irwin serves as an Assistant Professor at the UC College of Nursing. Dr. Irwin joined the UC CON team in 2015 as an Adjunct Faculty member. She taught Concepts of Community and Community as Partner in the Undergraduate programs until 2018. She switched gears and started teaching Mental Health in 2019 as full-time faculty, Assistant Professor, for the Undergraduate and Accelerated programs. She also teaches Community courses in the RN to BSN program. Her research interests include nursing administration in the rural community and active learning strategies in mental health nursing education. She has 22 years of clinical experience, primarily in the community/public health/mental health nursing area.
