Research and Practice Interests
My research area is in methodology in spatial and spatio-temporal statistics, hierarchical statistical modeling in environmental, climate and public health sciences, and computational strategies in data assimilation for complicated multiscale systems. I have developed Bayesian and empirical Bayesian methods for large or even massive spatial and spatio-temporal datasets with applications in remote-sensing and uncertainty quantification for climate models, and have carried out research on climate sensitivity detection through fluctuation-dissipation theory.
