Dr. Donghoon Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Cincinnati (UC). Before joining UC, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Mississippi State University (MSU) for two years. During his time at MSU, he chaired the Autonomy Research Group and established the Autonomous System Research Lab. Prior to that, he worked for the Robotics Division at LG Electronics in South Korea for two and a half years as a Senior Research Engineer, where he designed and developed various service robotic platforms. His research interests encompass autonomous system design and development, fault-tolerant control, health monitoring of autonomous systems, celestial mechanics, and applications of machine and deep learning. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Additionally, he serves on the Technical Committee of AIAA Astrodynamics and Space Automation and Robotics, as well as the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) Optimal Control, Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles, and Robotics.
