Dr. Nina Maria Lozano earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees, both in Communication Studies, from California State University Long Beach. They earned their doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Lozano teaches courses in rhetorical theory, rhetorical criticism, communication and popular culture, community-based learning for social change, communication and gender, and disability justice.
Dr. Lozano has published numerous essays and book chapters. Her latest book, "Not One More! Feminicidio on the Border," (2019) as part of the special series New Directions in Materiality, with the Ohio State University Press, looks at the rhetoric surrounding the murdered and disappeared women and girls in Ciudad Juårez, and Chihuahua, Mexico. Their new book project looks at questions of disability justice.
