Professional Summary
Rachael is a first-year PhD student in Roman Archaeology. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado Boulder with a B.A. in Classics and minors in Anthropology, Art History, and Italian in 2024. Her undergraduate thesis, “Interpreting Identity: Self Mythologizing and Cultural Entanglement of the Etruscan François Tomb”, focused on trade and self-representation in the Etruscan François Tomb of Vulci. She is interested in the formation of identity and intercultural exchange in Etruscan and early Roman central Italy.
Rachael has field experience at several excavations in Italy: the Coriglia Excavation Project (2022-2025) and Campo della Fiera (2023-2025), both of which are in Orvieto, Italy, as well as the Sentinum City Archaeological Project (2025) in the Marche region of Italy.
