Md. Newaz is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to entering into the doctoral program, with a concentration in International Relations and Comparative Politics, he previously studied in the field of politics, environment, and development. His areas of interest mainly include political ecology, governance, institutional policy, and community development with a particular focus on South and East Asia. Newaz is a recipient of Asian Development Japan Scholarship Program – ADB JSP Award (2017-2019).
