Professional Summary
Le Binh Anh Nguyen is the head teaching assistant of the secondary piano department at the University of Cincinnati and teaches pop piano and theory classes for the CCM Prep division. His scholarly work includes publications and presentations on topics such as music technology, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), sight-reading strategies, K-Pop, and Vietnamese music. Nguyen has lectured at national and regional conferences, including the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), the Group Piano/Piano Pedagogy Forum (GP3), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
Nguyen co-founded Music & Storytelling, an innovative workshop series for children in local hospitals and schools that teaches classical music using GenAI. He is also the author of a multimedia pop piano curriculum titled Snow White and The Seven Keys | Pop Edition, which features K-Pop and K-Drama soundtracks. In 2024, his commissioned composition, The Wood Dragon, which blends Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Korean folk tunes, was performed across the U.S. and Canada as part of an initiative at the University of Michigan. Most recently, his article Innovative Teaching in Piano Learning Apps was published in the October/November issue of the American Music Teacher journal (AMT).
In addition to his scholarly activities, Nguyen maintains an active performance profile as both a soloist and collaborator, having performed across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Notable highlights include being a featured artist in the annual ChildAid charity concert at Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre in Singapore and being invited as a guest artist at the Japan-Vietnam Piano Festival in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Hanoi. This season, his highlight performances will include lecture recitals of Vietnamese music.
