Professional Summary
Betsey joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Music & Health Program within Osher Center for Integrative Health at UC. Prior to UC, she completed a pre-doctoral NIH Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Training in Biobehavioral Oncology at Indiana University-Indianapolis. Betsey has worked in the field of music and music therapy in Cincinnati for over 20 years, most recently as the founder and Executive Director of Melodic Connections, a music therapy-based nonprofit. Her current research focuses on developing and evaluating music interventions that support stress regulation and cultivate community. Currently, she is examining the effects of singing on stress and anxiety among breast cancer survivors. Her work emphasizes culturally responsive, community-engaged approaches to intervention design.
