2024 -2024 Meridel Newman Outstanding Teaching Award The College of Nursing honors our excellent teachers by selecting an exemplar, master teacher for this award. Meridel Newman (1959 BSN graduate and educator in Illinois) saw the value in professional development and wanted to give back to her alma mater to ensure that our faculty would have professional development opportunities. Each year, two recipients will be awarded the Meridel Newman Outstanding Teacher Award and will receive $1,000.00 each from the endowment provided by benefactor Meridel Newman to be used for professional development.
