Professional Summary

Zachary Owens has been an instructor of Communication since 2008. While earning his Masters in Communication, Zac worked to gain an extensive amount of teaching experience in a variety of courses including Effective Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Communication & Popular Culture. He currently teaches courses in Effective Speaking, Business Communication, Persuasion, and PR. In his teaching, Zac strives to engage and empower students and to experiment with new pedagogical ideas.

Zac assists Professor Kris Galyen in coordinating the annual Department of Communication Graduate Assistant Workshop for Teaching Effective Speaking in addition to training and mentoring first-year graduate assistant instructors. He also regularly serves as a judge in the annual Alice M. House Speech Contest.

In addition to teaching, Zac also provides communication training on a number of topics through interactive seminars, engaging presentations, and lectures.
