Professional Summary

Personal Statement
I discovered that the moments I shared with my patients in the hospital and at the Wellness clinic captured the heart of what Internal Medicine is. Whether admitting a patient in an acute heart failure exacerbation or helping a patient quit smoking, an internist cares for patients undergoing the worst day of their lives with excellence and compassion. An internist's scope of practice requires navigating multifaceted disease processes, preventative medicine, and pharmacology while emphasizing activism, leadership, and empathy for those in their darkest moments. These ideals connect with those I hold as fundamental traits of the doctor I want to be. While serving in various leadership roles on campus, I consider my most significant impact to have been at the bedside of my patients.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
I chose Cincinnati for its focus on medical education and overall sense of community amongst the residents, faculty, and staff. For me, it was important to find a program that focuses on not only resident wellness, but also patient advocacy. With UC’s “long block”, we are given the opportunity to be an advocate and PCP to the general Cincinnati community for a large portion of our training. This paired with dedicated faculty, made the decision easy for me to choose Cincy.
