Professional Summary
Raised in Iran in an Afghan Hazara family, Fatemeh has lived between Tehran, Dortmund, and now Cincinnati. She completed her BA in Photography at the University of Tehran and later worked as a research fellow with Academy in Exile at TU Dortmund University before relocating to the United States in 2024. She is currently pursuing dual Master’s degrees in Fine Arts (MFA) and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Cincinnati, where her research-based practice focuses on archives, displacement, and the lives of Hazara and Afghan women across Afghanistan, Iran, and the wider diaspora.
