Dr. Laura Jean Ridge is an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati's College of Nursing. She is a nurse practitioner who earned her Master's in Adult Primary Care from Columbia University (2010). She provided HIV care in New York City for five years before beginning her PhD at New York University. During her PhD (2020) she was funded by the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH). She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Michigan's School of Nursing (2022) funded by the National Institute for Nursing Research. During her postdoctoral fellowship, she received further NIOSH funding to conduct the first national survey on sharps injuries among healthcare workers in Ghana and Liberia.

Research and Practice Interests
Dr. Ridge's research focuses on the occupational health of nurses, with an emphasis on how it is affected by pandemics and other emergencies. She has conducted research in New York, Michigan, Liberia, and Ghana.
