Professional Summary

Amy recieved her B.S. in Montessori Education from Xavier University. She then helped create one of the first elementary Montessori programs in Northern Kentucky while teaching at Prince of Peace School. She returned to XU and earned her M.Ed. while also completing additional Montessori certification. She completed the Orton Gillingham training for reading and spelling along with several trainings on dyslexia, executive functioning, and most recently, training in Adult Learning Theory and Research Based Coaching Approaches. Amy spent several years as a lead lower elementary teacher at the Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori School and then transitioned to a Support Specialist for the school for an additional 8 years.  She also worked as a Field Supervisor for Xavier University and The Center for Guided Montessori Studies supporting new teachers. Amy is now excited to continue her passion for meeting student needs in higher education as an academic advisor for the BPS program at UC.
