Professional Summary
Violinist Gabrielle Sewell is passionate about sharing music with others through performance. She is a sought-after teacher for pre-college students and serves as a violin and chamber music faculty member at the Cincinnati Starling Project. Gabrielle's first solo performance with an orchestra was at age 12, where she performed Vivaldi’s Summer as a winner of the Masterworks Youth Sinfonia Concerto Competition. She has since been a soloist with the Starling Chamber Orchestra, Starling Showcase Orchestra, Northern Kentucky Youth Orchestras, Cumberland Orchestra, and CCM Concert Orchestra. Gabrielle has been invited to perform in principal positions with the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) Orchestras, Mason Symphony Orchestra, and the Sewanee Symphony at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival (SSMF). She was honored as the first prize winner of the Nancy F. Walker Memorial Scholarship. During 2022 and 2023, she was a grateful recipient of the Three Arts Scholarship. Gabrielle was also a prizewinner in the Jacqueline Avent Concerto Competition and the Fall 2025 winner of the CCM Concerto Competition. Gabrielle has attended SSMF, Innsbrook Institute, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival on scholarship. At Bowdoin, she studied chamber music with the Ying Quartet and with the Ariel Quartet at CCM. She enjoys sharing music through the creation of community outreach programs in local churches and elderly care facilities. Currently, she is a scholarship student of Kurt Sassmannshaus at CCM.
