Personal Statement
In middle school, my older brother was hospitalized with severe abdominal pain. In the months leading up to his admission, I saw my brother lose weight, stop eating, and struggle just to be a kid. Visiting him in the children’s hospital, I remember feeling scared and uncertain about his condition. I watched how a team of nurses, pharmacists, and physicians all worked in concert to ultimately diagnose him with Crohn’s disease. Through their collaboration they helped my brother return to a sense of normalcy and comforted my family through this difficult time. It was from this experience that the uncertainty about what I wanted to be when I grew up all but vanished. I suddenly found a purpose and a passion that has served as my unwavering driving force for the past 15 years of my life.

Family is incredibly important to me. I chose Cincinnati because of its world-class reputation and the ability to be just a short drive away from family!
