Professional Summary
Callaghan is a fourth-year PhD student in Classical Archaeology. She received her MA in Classics from the University of Iowa in 2021. She received her BA with honors from the same institution in 2019. Callaghan’s primary research interests lie in sculpture, stonework, and urban production in the Roman world. In particular, she is interested in the urban place of stoneworking in Roman cities and its relationship to larger trends and developmetns in urbanization, production, and networks of knowledge in the provinces.
Callaghan has participated in excavations in both the United States and the Mediterranean. For the past three years, she has participated in the University of Cincinnati's excavations at the Roman site of Tharros on Sardinia.
