Professional Summary

In 2015, Whitney joined the Accounting Department at the Lindner College of Business to teach undergraduate and graduate business law courses. In 2012, Whitney began teaching Employment Law as an Adjunct at the University of Cincinnati, Paralegal Studies Program, CECH. Whitney earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Miami University in 1998 and her Juris Doctorate, from the Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 2002. Prior to joining the University of Cincinnati Faculty, for 11 years, Whitney Westrich was Assistant General Counsel at Luxottica, (parent company for LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical, Oakley, and EyeMed Vision Care), a leader in premium, luxury and sports eyewear with over 7,000 optical and sun retail stores in North America, Asia-Pacific, China, South Africa, Latin America and Europe. Her role encompasses legal support for over 1,500 retail locations in North America. She is responsible for commercial lease agreements and other commercial contracts and manages a team of seven legal professionals. Prior to joining Luxottica, she provided in house legal support for the Consumer Lending Division of US Bank. She began her legal career in Butler County, Court of Common Pleas as a Bailiff (1999 to 2002) for Judge Matthew J. Crehan. Whitney serves as a volunteer UpSpring, a local non-profit providing educational and enrichment programs, transportation, and other specialized services to children experiencing homelessness in Cincinnati. Whitney has enjoyed her service to the Southwest Ohio Chapter of ACC as Program Committee Chair, VP, and President.

100 Wise Women (I was nominated to lead a discussion with a group of local professionals on the “TED Talk: Forget the Pecking Order at Work.” Research at MIT showed that “high-achieving groups” weren"t the ones that had members with the high IQs or the highest aggregate IQs across the members of the group.
