Professional Summary
Rebekah Whitacre is the Director of Piano Services and Adjunct Instructor of Piano Technology at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, overseeing care and preservation for nearly 240 pianos and historical keyboard instruments. A Registered Piano Technician through the Piano Technicians Guild, Rebekah trained and received certification in piano technology at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA and has completed additional training at Steinway and Sons’ New York factory in Astoria, NY. Prior to her role at CCM, Rebekah was a keyboard technician at Tanglewood Music Center, West Music, and The University of Iowa. Throughout her career, Rebekah has prepared instruments for several notable artists including Emanuel Ax, Leon Fleisher, Anderson and Roe, Christopher O’Riley, Ursula Oppens, and Lera Auerbach. A member of CCM’s Piano Services staff since 2011, she was a University of Cincinnati Staff Excellence Award Nominee in 2022 and again in 2023. Rebekah also holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from The University of Iowa.
